What is the history of Craftstar Homes?
Craftstar Homes and Craftmark Homes are proud members of the Craftmark Group, the largest privately held homebuilder in the Washington area. The Craftmark Group has been ranked in the top 100 builders nationally by Professional Builder Magazine and recognized by the Washington Business Journal as one of the top 50 privately held businesses in the nation's capital region. They have consistently delivered 350 - 550 homes a year since the mid 1990's.

The Craftmark Group has been honored with the Greater Washington Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and is the 5 time winner of the Large Volume Builder of the Year Award, as well as 50 other major design and quality awards. You can count on them to build your new home as though it were for their own family.

What makes Craftstar Superstars so special?
Wishes come true with Craftstar Superstars. Look for streetscapes and homes of unique and individual character, wrought in stone, brick or siding architecture with meticulous detailing and craftsmanship. Within, the original designs will surprise and delight you with expansive spaciousness and lavish touches everywhere. You will find features like 3 piece moldings, gourmet kitchens, 4th level super suites with rooftop decks, computer lounges, and much more. Because dreams mean so much more when they can come true, remarkable affordability has been designed into every Craftstar Superstar.
Why is now your best time to buy a new home?
During the past 30 years there has not been a 7 year period where the average home price in the metropolitan area has declined overall. Home prices have grown, on average, nearly 8% annually or 54% during a 7 year period in the last 3 decades, outpacing NASDAQ as a smart investment. Additionally, almost every jurisdiction in the Washington Metropolitan Region is adopting stricter growth policies which will limit the supply of new homes in the years to come. This shortage of supply will put upward pressure on prices in addition to the upward pressure resulting from the increased costs both labor and material. With prices and financing now as low as they will go, and new homes traditionally showing higher appreciation than resales, today's market is actually an ideal time to purchase a Craftstar Superstar.
How does our financing help you buy a Craftstar Superstar?
We have established relationships with Wells Fargo Mortgage and M&T Bank as preferred lenders to provide you with access to the best financing programs from around the country. Through the quality of the programs themselves and personalized attention from both Wells Fargo and M&T mortgage officers, our financing can be personalized for monthly payments that feature maximum affordability. Combined with closing costs assistance that minimize your cash requirements at settlement, our approach to financing is designed to put Craftstar Superstars easily within your reach.
Do you need a real estate agent to buy a Craftstar Superstar?
Although we warmly welcome brokers, you do not have to have an agent to buy a Craftstar home.
When are Craftstar Homes sales centers open?
We are open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. During the months of November - February we are open from 11:00 a.m. until dusk.
How long does it take to build a Craftstar Superstar?
While we strive to build your home in a timely manner, factors beyond our control including the weather, material and labor availability, and government approvals and inspections, make it impossible to predict with certainty when your home will be completed. Your home could be ready in as little as 4 - 6 months after contract, but it could also take longer. Our Sales Managers can provide you with additional information regarding delivery dates.
When can homes under construction be visited?
As a courtesy we offer the opportunity to view homes under construction. After framing and roughing in of the mechanical systems, you will be invited to a Pre-Drywall Orientation. This provides an opportunity to view your home's framing, electrical wiring, plumbing, and HVAC systems before they are covered by drywall. Before settlement you will also have the opportunity to attend a Pre-Settlement Demonstration. This features walking your home with one of our representatives and creating a list of any items that need to be addressed. Generally, all issues will be resolved prior to settlement.

Because your home can be a dangerous place while it is being built, we strictly enforce a no trespassing policy for all homes under construction. Should you desire to see your home at a time other than at formally scheduled inspections, please make arrangements through your Sales Manager.

What are the highlights of Craftstar Homes warranty and customer service procedures?
We proudly stand behind the homes we build. During your first year in your new Craftstar Home, we warrant virtually all materials and workmanship. Exceptions generally involve items that are susceptible to damage after settlement, such as scratches in floors and damage to landscaping, as well as items that fall under homeowner maintenance.

Approximately ten months after you settle on your new Craftstar home, we will conduct a final inspection of your home. The majority of service work on your home generally takes place in conjunction with this inspection. At this final inspection, a representative of Craftstar Homes will walk through your home with you and make a list of items that need to be addressed. Depending on the nature of the items on your list, it will generally take one to two weeks to schedule and complete the necessary work.
